EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

To predict the size of Brazil's first rate hike, expected to take place in April, the markets will watch for inflation data from the first half of March, the March 17 monetary policy meeting minutes and the central bank's Focus report on inflation expectations. For Mexico, mid-March inflation data, as well as economic activity indicators and trade figures for the beginning of 2010, will be monitored carefully to determine the pace of economic growth momentum.
