EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The March data show Brazil’s growth dynamics once again surprising heavily to the upside, leading us to revise our GDP growth estimate for 2010. On Thursday, Brazil’s Finance Minister Guido Mantega announced some fiscal adjustments to ease the risk of overheating. In Mexico, external demand continued to drive growth momentum in March, while domestic demand showed further signs of a slow revival. In Argentina, official and non-official inflation readings continued to show divergence in April, and the deteriorated inflation outlook remains intact.
