- We have revised the 2010 GDP growth forecast for the Nordic region upwards, due in large part to stronger-than-expected growth in Sweden and Norway.
- Exports and private consumption are driving growth in the small, open economies of the Nordics. The recovery will continue in 2011, although at a slower pace.
- While public finances in the region are very strong, particularly in comparison with the rest of Europe, fiscal consolidation is set to begin in 2011 in most Nordic economies.
