- US current account deficit expected to be above $900b in 2006 ($791b in 2005; $665 in 2004)
- US current account deficit on its way to be above 7% of GDP for the next few years
- Implies a large increase in US net foreign liabilities (from 25% of GDP in 2005) to over 50% by 2012
