EU Fiscal Coordination

Background:

With Europe deep in the midst of an economic downturn, the IMF advocates greater coordination across the Eurozone in order to increase the effectiveness of policy aimed at stimulating a recovery. A simultaneous areawide stimulus is expected to yield stronger growth effects than a stimulus in just one country.
