Senior Engineer (New York)

The Senior Engineer will focus on new feature development and maintenance tasks for various aspects of our internal products (such as our CRM and reporting tools) and external products (such as our client-facing websites).

Requirements:

  • Well-versed in all aspects of web development from back-end (data design, security, scalability) to front-end (usability and cross-browser compatibility) and able to leverage these skills to architect solutions for projects.
  • Ability to interact with project team to clarify requirements as needed to turn specifications into working product on schedule.  
  • Have 5 or more years of experience doing medium to large scale web development projects and maintenance.

Economist – Turkey and Emerging Europe (New York or London)

RGE is seeking strong candidates for a Turkey and Emerging Europe (including CIS and Central Europe) Economist position.

Our dynamic economic research team finds, analyzes, and summarizes a continuous stream of quality journal articles, working papers, op-ed commentary, academic publications, investment research and news to RGE clients.  In addition, Economists research and write proprietary content on a wide range of topics, both as individual authors and as assistants or co-authors with other Economists including RGE’s Chairman, Nouriel Roubini.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing macroeconomic data and trends in Turkey and other selected emerging European economies, forecasting key economic variables, developing house views on the economies of coverage
  • Managing the relevant pages on the roubini.com website, keeping the content up-to-date to satisfy client needs (this includes sourcing, analyzing, and posting economic-related content most useful for decision makers)
  • Researching and writing regular analysis pieces (related to Turkey and other Emerging Europe economies), including contributions to the Macro team’s weekly, monthly and quarterly publications
  • Actively participating in meetings with the Macro and Strategy teams to contribute and exchange ideas on current economic issues
  • Collaborating with the Strategy team on research, forecasting, and publications
  • Participate in advisory services for clients as needed

Qualifications:

  • Masters in Economics or extensive course work/employment in the real macro and international economics field
  • 1-2 years of work experience covering macroeconomic issues in Turkey and/or other related Emerging European countries such as Poland, Russia, and the Baltics
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge of current economic trends and policies in Turkey and other regional economies, ability to identify inter-linkages between the global economy (particularly Western Europe) and the region
  • Strong knowledge of current real economic trends and policies of the region
  • Knowledge of regional languages a plus
  • Strong skills in econometrics, handling databases, econometric software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong English writing skills
  • Strong communication and analytical skills to interact with macro, strategy, and sales teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to conduct client conference calls and meetings

Sales Professionals - Multiple Openings (New York and London)

In response to tremendous interest in our product, RGE is growing its sales organization to keep up with demand. We are looking for highly-motivated and entrepreneurial sales professionals who love selling, work hard, and understand the various facets of the sales cycle.

Successful candidates will want to work in a fast-paced environment selling macroeconomic/financial research to financial institutions - specifically to asset management firms, international financial institutions, investment and commercial banks and multi-national corporations.

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly building a strong pipeline through cold calling and/or established contacts
  • Initiating and nurturing relationships within customer organizations
  • Developing an achievable strategic plan and successfully executing the plan
  • Converting prospects into clients consistently month over month
  • Understanding the sales cycle and its intricacies

Qualifications:

Macro Internships

Economic Intern – Middle East and Africa (London)

RGE is seeking strong candidates for an internship focusing on the Middle East and North Africa and/or Sub-Saharan Africa. The intern will provide support to the Macro Strategy team on a variety of projects related to macroeconomic dynamics in the region. The internship will last at least for the summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the Economists/editorial team on a variety of projects focused primarily on Middle East or African economies
  • Sourcing, analyzing, and posting economic, political and financial markets-related content that would be useful to key decision makers around the world
  • Keeping up-to-date on and contributing to coverage of relevant geostrategic and economic events--and in some cases, financial events
  • Working with/assisting Economists on research projects and writing assignments
  • The position involves a 20 hour per week commitment for at least the entire summer

Qualifications:

  • All those with an interest in emerging markets, particularly the Middle East and Africa, are encouraged to apply
  • Extensive course work in economics, political science, and/or international affairs
  • Strong knowledge of current geostrategic and economic debates relevant to economists, policy makers, and investment professionals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Economic Intern – Asia (New York)

The intern will assist the Economist covering Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The position is available immediately and requires approximately 20 hours per week. Applicants based outside of New York may still apply to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing, analyzing, writing, and posting content related to Asia that is most pertinent to key decision makers and investors around the world
  • Keeping up-to-date on economic, financial, and political events in Asia, especially those of Japan, Australia, Indonesia, and Thailand
  • Working with/assisting Economists and Senior Economists on research projects, data transformation, and reports as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Completed or in the process of completing a Masters in Economics with coursework in macroeconomics (including monetary theory) and international economics (Political Science and International Affairs graduates will be considered upon demonstration of strong economic background)
  • Strong knowledge of current economic trends and debates concerning Asian economies, especially that of Japan and/or Southeast Asia
  • Minimum 3.5 grade point average
  • English fluency—both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently when necessary
  • Good command of MS Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Keen attention to detail

Economic Intern - Latin America (New York)

Roubini Global Economics (RGE) is seeking strong candidates for an internship focusing on Latin America. The intern will provide support to the Economists/editorial team on a variety of projects related to macroeconomic dynamics in the Latin American region.  The internship will last at least one semester and may lead to a full time employment position.

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing, analyzing, and posting economic and finance-related content that would be most useful to key decision makers around the world
  • Keeping up-to-date on and contributing to coverage of relevant geostrategic, economic and, in some cases, financial events
  • Working with/assisting Economists on research projects and writing assignments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from a reputable university with a concentration in Economics, Finance, International Affairs or Business (course work in Economics and/or Finance is required for IA and Business majors)
  • Masters-level course work in economics strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of econometrics, particulary time series analysis
  • Familiarity with Latin American region (economics, politics, and markets)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and be a team player
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good academic standing
  • Must be able to commit to internship for no less than one semester
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Able to start immediately and availability M-F for 20-30 hours per week

Economic Intern - Eastern Europe (New York)

RGE is seeking strong candidates for an internship focusing on Eastern Europe. The intern will provide support to the Economists/editorial team on a variety of projects related to macroeconomic dynamics in the Eastern Europe region.  The internship will last at least one semester and may lead to a full time employment position.

Strategy Intern - Asset Allocation Strategy

Roubini Global Economics, a leading high-profile global economics website is seeking strong candidates for an internship position focused on Asset Allocation Strategy. Our dynamic research staff supports the strategy effort with quantitative model building and market research.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with quantitative models to support tactical asset allocation
  • Working with asset class strategists to build quantitative forecasting models for various asset classes for various time horizons for use in the asset allocation process

Qualifications:

  • BA in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering or extensive coursework/employment in related field (enrollment in a Masters program preferred)

Strategy Intern – Equity Strategy

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily market research and trade idea generation
  • Building quantitative forecasting models for equity fundamentals with guidance from senior strategists
  • Supporting the equity effort with model updates and enhancements to valuation for global equity markets

Qualifications:

  • BA in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering or extensive course work/employment in related field

Strategy Intern – Global Banking/Financials (London)

The Strategy team at RGE provides insightful research and top-down asset allocation advice for a wide audience, from policy-makers to hedge funds. The intern will support the strategist for financial institutions, who provides more detailed insight into the banking system through analysis of individual and aggregated bank financial statements identifying trends and risks to economic growth and current valuations. The role will provide the candidate with invaluable experience relevant to a wide array of roles across the financial sector or further economic and financial study.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and standardizing primary data for databases and models used for generating recommendations
  • Regression analysis and optimization to link fundamental approach to market values
  • Keeping up to date on news relevant to the global banking infrastructure and surmising the impact on asset valuations
  • Updating and improving frameworks for tracking performance and identifying relative value across bank debt and equity

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with structure of corporate financial statements
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg a plus
  • Previous experience in a bank or rating agency a plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • A very high standard of English – capacity to understand legal documentation
  • Minimum commitment: 25 hours per week for 6 months (preference given to candidates who can work full-time in the summer term)
  • Must be currently matriculated in or graduated from a Masters-level programme.  Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of current or past matriculation.
