FULL-TIME POSITIONS

Editor (NY)

Responsibilities

  • Copy-editing and fact-checking reports on economic and financial trends, ensuring consistency in style and voice
  • Managing production on Roubini.com, EconoMonitor.com and RoubiniMonitor.com using Wordpress and RedDot content management systems
  • Summarizing research and blog posts for compilation in daily and weekly newsletters
  • Using social media (Twitter, Reddit, Digg, Facebook, LinkedIn) to drive site traffic
  • Editing or drafting marketing materials
  • Helping to maintain a style guide to ensure consistent editorial practices and publishing procedures across the company

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree; economics, journalism, communications, English, marketing or related coursework preferred
  • 0-3 years of professional editing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for diplomacy
  • Ability to succinctly convey complex economic issues with an engaging writing style
  • Attention to detail (and ability to prove it with a copy-editing test)
  • Ability to multitask and appropriately prioritize tasks under pressure
  • Interest in economics, political science or international affairs, and ideally familiarity with economic and financial lingo
  • Interest in online media and, ideally, experience using a content management system
  • Familiarity with social media and blogging platforms (Twitter, Tweetdeck, WordPress)
  • Deftness with the Microsoft Office suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint—as well as Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat

Sales Professional - Multiple Openings (New York and London)

In response to tremendous interest in our product, RGE is growing its sales organization to keep up with demand. We are looking for highly-motivated and entrepreneurial sales professionals who love selling, work hard, and understand the various facets of the sales cycle.

Successful candidates will want to work in a fast-paced environment selling macroeconomic/financial research to financial institutions - specifically to asset management firms, international financial institutions, investment and commercial banks and multi-national corporations.

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly building a strong pipeline through cold calling and/or established contacts
  • Initiating and nurturing relationships within customer organizations
  • Developing an achievable strategic plan and successfully executing the plan
  • Converting prospects into clients consistently month over month
  • Understanding the sales cycle and its intricacies
  • Demonstrating the highest level of motivation and desire to succeed

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of sales experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in financial markets
  • Solid career growth with a stable job history
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills
  • Some college/university experience
  • Must love selling!

INTERNSHIPS

Macro-Strategy Internships

Internship - Emerging Europe or Middle East and Africa (NY)

RGE is seeking strong candidates for an internship focusing on Emerging Europe and/or the Middle East and Africa. The intern will provide support to the Macro-Strategy team on a variety of projects related to macroeconomic dynamics in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the Macro-Strategy teams on a variety of projects focused primarily on Emerging European Middle Eastern and/or African economies
  • Sourcing, analyzing, and posting economic, political, and financial markets-related content that would be useful to key decision makers around the world
  • Updating economic models with new data
  • Keeping up-to-date on and contributing to coverage of relevant geostrategic and economic events (and, in some cases, financial events)
  • Working with/assisting economists on research projects and writing assignments

Qualifications:

  • All those with an interest in emerging markets, particularly in the EMEA, are encouraged to apply
  • Extensive course work in Economics, Political Science, and/or International Affairs/Business
  • Strong knowledge of current geostrategic and economic debates relevant to economists, policy makers, and investment professionals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of econometrics
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Knowledge of regional languages is a plus
  • Ability to start immediately and be available for 20-30 hours per week for at least one semester

Internship - Equity Strategy (NY)

RGE is seeking strong candidates for an internship position focusing on Equity Strategy. Our dynamic research staff supports the Macro-Strategy effort with quantitative model building and market research. This internship is based in our New York office and will last at least one semester.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily market research and trade idea generation
  • Building quantitative forecasting models for equity fundamentals with guidance from senior strategists
  • Supporting the equity strategy effort with model updates and enhancements to valuation for global equity markets

Qualifications:

  • BA in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering or extensive course work/employment in related field
  • Experience in quantitative finance programs a plus
  • Well-developed sense of teamwork
  • Ability to work under deadline
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Progress toward CFA designation a plus
  • Programming skills a plus
  • Enrollment in a Masters program a plus

Internship - Quantitative Analysis (NY)

RGE is seeking strong candidates for a quantitative analysis internship focusing on global topical issues. This position will be based in our New York office and will last at least one semester.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the Macro-Strategy and Editorial teams on a variety of projects focused primarily on quantitative analysis.
  • Keeping up-to-date RGE’s global economic database.
  • Assisting in data management and producing short written analysis.
  • Assisting economists on research projects and writing assignments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Economics or Finance
  • Masters-level course work in Economics and/or Finance strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and be a team player
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good academic standing
  • Ability to work under deadline
  • Ability to start immediately and be available M-F for 20-30 hours per week
