Latin America Outlook Update: Converging Toward Potential Growth

The region will converge to potential growth in 2011 after an extraordinary 2010, with fast-growing economies decelerating and laggards closing negative output gaps. Central banks will miss their mid-point inflation targets, while monetary policy rates are approaching neutral levels. A weak U.S. recovery, deceleration in Asia or fiscal risks in the eurozone represent the main risks to Latin America’s economic performance.
