Czech Republic Outlook: Shifting to Stall Speed

The bleaker economic outlook for the eurozone (EZ), along with harsh austerity measures, will cut Czech growth to stall-speed next year. Falling capacity utilization, tighter lending conditions and easing export orders all point to a plunge in investment. The weak koruna will persuade the Czech National Bank (CNB) to hold fire for longer and keep the policy rate steady through end-2012, engaging in modest easing thereafter.
