South Africa Outlook: Sub-Par Recovery Hit By Global Woes
The global slowdown will weaken external demand for commodities, dampening South Africa’s export and growth outlook. Rising inflationary pressures, chronic unemployment and household indebtedness will dampen consumption. The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) will maintain an accommodative stance, remaining on hold well into 2012, but has no room to cut.
