South Korea Outlook: Drifting Into the Slow Lane
We have revised downward our expectations for 2012 to account for weaker growth in China and the eurozone. Negative feedback loops from the external sector and financial markets will weigh on domestic demand. The political calendar should prompt a supportive fiscal stance and we expect the Bank of Korea (BoK) to ease rates as growth suffers and inflation rolls over in Q1 2012.
